Nothing says fall more than backpacks, football, pumpkin-spice lattes…and class field trips! Here at the George Ranch Historical Park, we’ve planned a great year of fun, hands-on, educational field trips to help you bring the past alive for your students. Teachers, you should receive a printed version of our School Programs Catalog soon. In the meantime, check out our website for details on all our structured and role-playing programs available for the 2015-2016 school year. 

2015-2016 School Highlights:

TEXIAN MARKET DAYS FESTIVAL
Schools only: Friday, October 23, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Open to all grade levels, the Texian Market Days field trip day is a learning opportunity you won’t want your students to miss! Activities run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and are designed for middle school students. We feature exciting learning experiences including historical re-enactments, hands-on activities, cooking demonstrations, old-fashioned games, musical entertainment and historic house tours! Cost is $7 per student. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis, so book early by calling 281-343-0218 x220. E-mail education@georgeranch.org to book or to ask questions!

TALES OF TEXAS

Chuckwagon Meal

Geared specifically for grades 2-5, Tales of Texas teaches kids about Texas colonization and independence plus the stories behind many Texas heroes. Includes vignettes, historic house tours & lots of activities! E-mail education@georgeranch.org for more information!

Journey back to the days of Stephen F. Austin’s 1830s settlement in Texas. Explore log cabin life, fieldwork and early ranch management. Additional rotations also available.
