The George Ranch Historical Park is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except for January 1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24 and 25). Reservations are not necessary.
We invite guests to tour the Park on their own terms and at their own speed. Self-guided tour brochures are available at the Visitor's Center. When you check in, you will receive your own copy. The Park is developed around a nearly-mile long loop; a tractor-drawn tram circles every 20 or 30 minutes. You can walk the loop or ride the tram. We recommend that you plan to arrive (at the latest) by 1:30 p.m. or 2 p.m. since it takes 3 to 3.5 hours to tour the entire Park.
Ongoing demonstrations and activities are key to bringing the George Ranch Historical Park's story to life. While you can drop by the pioneer farm, sharecropper's farm and blacksmith shop at any time during our regular hours of operation, the working cowboy demonstrations and historical house tours are only offered at set times throughout the day.
Finally, because the 1890s Davis Victorian Mansion and 1930s George Ranch House display museum-quality artifacts, they are climate-controlled for humidity and temperature. However, the rest of the Park's historical amenities--including the Jones Stock Farm, Sharecropper's Cabin, working pens and 1930s tree house--are all subject to the whims of weather. We suggest that you dress for the day's forecast.
We also have a small cafe on site, the Dinner Belle Cafe, which serves beverages, light lunches and snacks.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
