NOTE: The Park is open to the general public; please follow the signs to the temporary Visitor Check-In location at the historic Post Office building. Cattle demonstrations take place at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. only, so come early!

Father’s Day Frontier Survival & Blacksmithing Classes

Frontier Survival Class: 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

Help Dad discover his inner pioneer with a special Frontier Survival Class at the 1830s Jones Stock Farm! Learn the necessary skills for living on the Texas prairie and learn to fire a black powder musket. The class is first-come, first-served and will be held at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Each session is limited to 30 participants.

Behind-the-Barrier Blacksmith Workshop: 10 a.m., Noon & 2 p.m.

Up to four participants a session can join our blacksmith behind-the-barrier and get a basic introduction to the art of blacksmithing. These 90-minute workshops cost $30 per person and are a great introduction into this historic art! To reserve your spot in the class, please call 281-343-0218 9-5 Tuesday – Saturday.
