Historic Lunch: Before Thanksgiving Was Thanksgiving!

Though Thanksgiving as we know it is one of our more modern holidays, its roots lie in the harvest festival traditions of our ancestors. Journey back in time with us to the beginnings of this important holiday for a special meal at the 1830s Jones Stock Farm, which includes a whole roasted hog for your dining pleasure!

Menu: Whole roast pig (no head), pinto beans with Ranch bacon, corn with mild, fire-roasted chilis, dandelion greens with fatback and potatoes, savory sweet potato pone, cornbread, cracklin’ bread, pan d’campo bread, assorted pickled veggies, blackberry, peach and apple cobblers.

Cost for the meal is $15 for adults ages 13 and older; $12 for children ages 5-12 and $4 for children 4 and under. Reservations are STRONGLY encouraged. Make reservations online or call (281) 343-0218 to make reservations for the historic meal.
