New Operational Hours to Take Effect January 21, 2020
Education is the heart of our mission, and we are honored to bring Texas history to life for more than 25,000 school children and their chaperones each year! Starting January 21, 2020, the George Ranch Historical Park will debut a new operational model designed to maximize educational impact in Fort Bend County. This means that the Park will be:
- Open Tuesday through Friday exclusively for pre-booked school and group tours. Tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance. Click here to learn more about booking a tour. No walk-in tours will be available.
- Open on Saturdays to the general public. The Park will also be open to the public on select weeks throughout the year. For the most up-to-date schedule, visit this webpage or call the Visitor Center at 281-343-0218 x0. Members of the Fort Bend History Association always receive free admission when the Park is open to the general public.
The Park will be closed:
- Sundays and Mondays
- The month of August
This shift is a result of the Fort Bend History Association and The George Foundation working together to evaluate the Park’s mission, educational impact, historical visitation and visitor feedback from the past decade. As an organization founded specifically to champion Texas history education and preservation, we believe this new model will offer school children, visitors and members a deeper and more hands-on historical experience – and that makes us excited!
Whether you drop in on a Saturday or book a group tour during the week, we look forward to traveling back in time with you in 2020!
