RICHMOND – WCA Waste Corporation has generously given the Fort Bend County Museum Association a grant making it possible for underprivileged children in Title 1 schools to visit the George Ranch Historical Park in 2016.
“WCA is proud to give back to the communities it serves. Through local organizations like the Fort Bend Museum and George Ranch Historical Park, we are able to touch the lives of people in the local communities, improve the quality of life and help out the environment,” said Matt Graham, Regional Vice President for WCA.
Marcos Elizondo, WCA’s Director of Landfill Operations and Engineering, stated, “We are proud to continuously give back to an organization that, in return, gives so much back to the local community and Fort Bend region. We are happy to support the George Ranch Historical Park and help keep its historical legacy alive.”
Terri Norris, director of development for the Fort Bend County Museum Association, said she is thrilled to have WCA’s strong support.
“The educational value of a field trip to the George Ranch Historical Park is immeasurable for these kids,” she said. “We take Texas history out of the textbook and bring it to life through hands-on activities, stories, games and more. They would not have the opportunity to experience this without financial help, so we are extremely grateful for WCA’s generosity in covering field trip expenses for these schools.”
