Got grit?

Grit (noun): firmness of character; indomitable spirit; pluck

Become a George Ranch Interpretive Teen (G.R.I.T.)! We need energetic, independent, mature teenagers to share Texas history through the story of four generations of one unique Texas family. This is a rare opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the past and help us demonstrate Texas history to our guests from around the world. Fill out a G.R.I.T. application and become part of a Texas ranch!

This program is for public, private or homeschool students between 13 and 17 years of age.

G.R.I.T.s must complete 80 hours of volunteer service during the summer to be eligible to return and help out during the year.

Spots are limited, so apply early! Shifts take place from 8:30 – 2:00 Tuesday – Friday, and 8:30 – 4:00 on Saturdays.

Applications for the 2024 G.R.I.T. program are closed.
Applications for Summer 2025 will be available April 1 2025.
