The George Ranch Historical Park opened in 1988 as an educational partnership between The George Foundation and the Fort Bend History Association. The Park features four historic home sites: the 1830s Jones Stock Farm, 1860s Ryon Prairie Home, 1890s Davis Victorian Mansion and 1930s George Ranch Home and Cattle Complex. Learn more about the Park and its historic home sites.
Just 30 minutes from downtown Houston, the Park accommodates pre-booked school and group tours Tuesday through Friday, and is open to the general public on Saturdays and other special weeks throughout the year. The Park is closed during the month of August. Click here to get the costs, days and hours of operation and location to start planning your trip.
Education is the heart of our mission, and we are honored to bring Texas history to life for more than 25,000 school children and their chaperones each year. Click here to browse the school program offerings at the George Ranch Historical Park.
We welcome groups of 15+ persons to book a guided tour Tuesday through Friday at a discounted rate. Please note that group tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance and are subject to scheduling availability. Click here to learn more about booking an educational group tour at the Park.
